Why We Should Not Waste Food

Food is a gift, and wasting it is not good for people or the planet. Many children and families in the world do not have enough to eat, so we should always be careful with our food.

At home, children can take only the amount of food they can finish. If there are leftovers, they can be saved in the fridge for the next meal. Parents can also cook the right amount instead of making too much.

When food is wasted, not only is the food lost, but also the water, energy, and hard work used to grow it. Throwing food in the trash also creates pollution.

Sharing food with neighbors or donating extra food to people in need is a good habit. Children can also learn to eat fruits and vegetables without throwing away the edible parts.

Not wasting food shows respect for farmers, nature, and people who are hungry. Every small effort helps make the world a kinder and healthier place.
