The World of Fish
Fish are amazing animals that live in water. They breathe using special body parts called gills, which take in oxygen from the water. Unlike us, they don’t need lungs! Fish have fins that help them swim and a tail fin for steering. Their bodies are covered with scales, which protect them, and they have a slimy layer to help them glide through the water. Most fish are cold-blooded, meaning their body temperature changes with the water around them. Fish lay eggs, and baby fish are called fry. They eat plants, tiny creatures, or even other fish, depending on their type. Fish are an important part of nature because they help keep water ecosystems balanced. From the smallest goldfish to the giant whale shark, fish are truly fascinating!
