The seed first grows roots, which go down into the soil to drink water and take in nutrients.
Then, a small shoot pushes up through the soil and grows into a stem, reaching for sunlight. Soon, the flower’s leaves grow, helping it make food through a process called photosynthesis.
Finally, a bud appears on the stem and blooms into a colorful flower. Inside the flower are tiny grains called pollen, which help make new seeds.
Bees and butterflies carry pollen from flower to flower, helping new plants grow.
The flower’s journey continues as its seeds spread, starting the life cycle all over again!
